Pastor Tom Holland

Prior to coming to Gatetree, Tom had always led large, Bible-Belt congregations. But in the late-90’s, God placed the burden of doing ministry outside of the Bible Belt on Tom's heart. Gatetree was just the place! He came to Gatetree as Senior Pastor in February 1999.

In a generation where dogmatism is viewed as the new heresy, many have backed away from bold preaching, Pastor Tom continues to proclaim two nonnegotiable truths; the absolute accuracy and authority of the Bible and Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. The emphasis of his pulpit ministry is the careful study and verse-by-verse exposition of the Bible, with special attention devoted to the historical and grammatical background behind each passage.

A lifelong learner, Tom holds both a Bachelors and Masters Degree from Masters Theological Seminary.  He has pastored Southern Baptist churches in Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. For 8 years he served on the state convention staff of the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention. He has been an active conference leader and speaker for Southern Baptist events and twice served as a Trustee for Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. Tom is a writer, author and accomplished musician.

Tom and Mary Ann have two children, Tommy and Ann. Tom enjoys golf, running, water sports, computers and most of all, spending time with Mary Ann.
